HIV & AIDS Workplace Programmes

Using the results obtained from the impact analysis as a baseline, our Workplace Programmes provide a comprehensive, organisation-specific strategy for risk reduction, prevention, education and training, and are designed to:

• Integrate HIV/AIDS issues into every facet of organisational life from induction through training, performance management to termination

• Reduce the risk profile and Implement measures to maintain and/or reduce the direct and indirect costs related to HIV/AIDS, including:

• Overcome resistance and fear, and develop a culture of voluntary testing and disclosure without fear of discrimination or job loss, and

• Build mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the return on investment, and enable response systems to be adjusted accordingly


Prevention Programmes typically include:

• STI Management
• (Ongoing) voluntary testing and counselling
• Universal precautions
• Condom distribution efforts and
• Unlinked surveillance testing  

Risk Management involves:

• Development of policy as a frame of reference
• The implementation of measures to reduce high-risk behaviour
• The implementation of Wellness Management Programmes
• Possible changes to risk benefits to reduce the cost impact
• The evaluation of synergies to be obtained with disease management programmes
• The implementation of absenteeism monitoring and management programmes
• The incorporation of HIV/AIDS KPI'S and KPA'S into the organisational accrecard.
